1982 marked the fruition of a young couple's dream to actualize the vision of St. Anthony Mary Claret: to produce leaders with virtues through education. Thus, Saint Anthony Learning Center was established.

When the school started operations in June of that same year, it offered Nursery, Kinder, and Prep. Gradually, it expanded to the Lower and Middle School, and later, to the Upper School (High School). As the institution increased in both size and population, its name was changed to School of Saint Anthony.

In response to this steady growth, facilities were improved, instruction was enhanced, and fresh blood was infused into the staff and teaching force. In 1998, its newly constructed 40-classroom building was opened. This was furnished with an auditorium, an internet-ready computer room, and a swimming pool. From a staff of seven, the school now provides employment for over a hundred people.

In 2002 and 2003 respectively, the Grade School and Upper School obtained Level I Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) accreditation and in 2007 and 2008, Level II. In 2013 and 2014, both departments received Level II PAASCU reaccreditation and in 2017, the Upper School Department received its level III status. Level III is the highest level given to basic education programs by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies in the Philippines (FAAP) upon PAASCU's recommendation. In 2018 and 2019 respectively, both departments were re-accredited for another five years. Receiving PAASCU accreditation is tantamount to obtaining institutional recognition for high standards of instruction, outstanding faculty performance, robust employee development, creditable achievement and performance of students in both academic and co-curricular fields, extensive community/outreach services, and a stalwart school administration.

Given the K to 12 implementation of the DepEd, SSA opened its Senior High School Program in 2016 offering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); Accountancy and Business Management (ABM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). 

The School of Saint Anthony has established its reputation as a quality educational institution in the country. To become at par with the best schools of the nation and to hone students into becoming dynamic and value-laden individuals, the school provides fundamental and innovative academic and non-academic programs. SSA, in its desire to stay true to its dictum, wisdom and virtues, will continue to produce students who are contributory to nation-building, moral growth, and social development.
